Lily the Red-Tailed Black Cockatoo

August 16, 2018 1 min read

Behold, the most beautiful bird you ever did see: Lily. With her glossy feathers and crest, you can’t help but be stunned by the red-tailed black cockatoo. Everyone thinks that Lily has it easy, because she looks so great – but, in fact, Lily feels far from perfect. Because the animals constantly talk about how breathtaking she looks, she feels compelled to maintain a spectacular appearance. Over time, she's become more and more self-conscious about her body – so much so that she stopped coming out of her home at one point. Some of the animals assumed she was avoiding them, which made her even more upset. So she wrote letters to her friends, explaining the difficult feelings she was experiencing. They assured her that they love her irrespective of how she looks, but understood she needed some time away from the limelight. They visited her till she built up her confidence. Now Lily's started flying again – and realising that she's beautiful in all kinds of ways, inside and out. It makes her extra-happy to know that her friends appreciate her inner-beauty most of all.
