Think strength in numbers and a positive outlook on life. He is here to make the world a better place. Marvin’s humble abode is in the dry desserts of Botswana. It sure is a tough life facing a constant threat of predators but not to worry, one sense of danger and Marvin’s crew will stand high together and get through it. While he loves foraging for food, Marvin is often the sentry, which is the one who is on the lookout. Those dark patches around his eyes aren’t just from all those sleepless nights looking after the newborns, he is ultra sun smart and protects his eyes from the sun. Conflict and rivalry between meerkat mobs weighs heavy on Marvin...sound familiar? Can’t we all just get along…thinks Marvin on a daily basis. Although he cherishes his community and is so proud of all that they are, he longs for a world where all meerkats can live in peace. One very hot African day while he was standing tall basking in the sun, he noticed another group. His first instinct was to whistle in and get everyone back into the burrows but there was something different about this group. They needed refuge, hope and a whole lotta love. He just knew that they had seen some dark days so he challenged his social norm and took them in. After all… strength in numbers. We can all learn something from Marvin.
